B, H, O, P and L Visas
International athletes, coaches and their support personnel may benefit from a variety of visa options depending on their athletic and professional activities, including level of expertise, recognition, payment or salary.
Generally, the non-immigrant available visas are the B-1, B-2, H-1B, H-2B, O-1 and/or P-1 visas.
Essential support staff are eligible for visas such as the P-1S, for example. In addition, foreign sports entities may use the L-1 intracompany transfer category to bring executive or managerial employees (L-1A) and specialized knowledge employees (L-1B) to work for a qualifying branch office in the United States.
There are also a variety of immigrant category (green card) options such as the EB-1A, EB-2/NIW and EB-2/EB-3 with PERM certification.
